Atsuko was orphaned at the age of five. Her parents gave their lives trying to save an entire people from a threat that could have changed the fate of Myoo. After their deaths, she was raised by Mage Shizuka, who cared for her as her own daughter. The story of her parents is told in the short story Shadokai: The Well of Lost Voices.
Now twenty years old, Atsuko is a young woman with delicate features, porcelain-pale skin, long raven-black hair, and striking violet eyes—a rare trait that sets her apart at a glance.
Atsuko is one of the central figures of The Chronicles of Myoo and one of the main protagonists of The Tenth Sign series, which begins with the novel The Senshi Order.
Born in Chushin, the capital of the Empire of Myoo, she spent most of her life studying magic and living what seemed to be an ordinary life, unaware of the destiny waiting for her.
