In the world of Myoo exist beings whose origins stretch beyond the reach of memory itself. Ancient entities born in an age when magic had yet to be passed down to mortals. Among them, none is more mysterious than the Ancient Keeper of Dark Magic.
He watches over its primordial essence—the original force from which all Dark Magic was born.
For that reason, his appearances are even rarer than those of the Ancient Keeper of Magic. Together, the two entities embody the opposing halves of the balance that sustains the world of Myoo, and neither can prevail over the other without threatening the very existence of magic itself.
The oldest chronicles tell that the Ancient Keeper of Dark Magic reveals himself only when the balance between light and darkness is disturbed.
The few who claim to have seen him describe a towering figure formed of black smoke and dark light. His crimson eyes burn within the shadows, while two long fangs protrude from the corners of his mouth, giving him an appearance both fearsome and majestic.
The Ancient Keeper of Dark Magic neither spreads evil nor seeks dominion over the world. He watches over the currents of Dark Magic, safeguards forbidden knowledge, and waits until the moment his intervention becomes necessary. His purpose is not to shatter the balance, but to preserve it—even when doing so requires choices no mortal would ever be willing to make.
Most of Myoo's inhabitants know nothing of his existence. Others dismiss him as nothing more than a legend told to frighten apprentices. Yet his name continues to appear in the oldest chronicles, alongside that of the Ancient Keeper of Magic, whenever the fate of the continent reaches a turning point.
Perhaps because, even when no one can sense his presence, the Ancient Keeper of Dark Magic is still watching, waiting for the day when the balance between light and darkness once again calls for his intervention.
