Hagetsuki

A Silent Predator

Hagetsuki

Among the most feared creatures in Myoo is the Hagetsuki, an arachnid that inhabits the dampest forests, forgotten ruins, and the depths of ancient caves. Its black body, carried on long, slender legs, allows it to move in complete silence. A distinctive crescent-shaped marking adorns its back, earning it the nickname “Poison Moon.”

The hagetsuki is a patient predator. It remains perfectly still until the ideal moment to strike, descending from above or blending effortlessly into rocks and dense vegetation. Solitary and fiercely territorial, it avoids unnecessary conflict but attacks without hesitation when its territory is invaded.

Its deadliest weapon is its venom. A single bite is enough to kill a Doshimaru within seconds, causing rapid paralysis followed by the failure of its vital organs. Some specimens are also capable of spinning powerful magical webs that can imprison prey for days without any chance of escape.

According to ancient legends, Hagetsuki venom can be used to coat blades and arrows with deadly poison, but capturing one of these arachnids alive is an undertaking from which few ever return.
