Fishing on Myoo is extremely dangerous, so much so that over the course of the Eras, the practice was gradually abandoned until it disappeared entirely. The waters surrounding much of the continent harbor dangers that few have ever dared to face.
To the north lies the Kita Sea, while the southern shores border the Kaibutsu Sea. Both are infested with terrifying marine creatures that make venturing away from the mainland extremely dangerous.
Over the course of the Eras, the few sailors who dared to venture into those waters never returned, leaving behind families forced to accept their disappearance without ever knowing what fate had befallen them.
The only vessels capable of sailing seas infested with marine creatures are the Nekrabune and the Nekrador, used by the necromancers who live on the Shadokai Islands. Powered by necromantic magic, these vessels allow them to travel routes that would otherwise be inaccessible to the inhabitants of Myoo.
The situation along the western coast, off the Mikai Lands, is very different. In that part of Myoo, the sea appears to be completely free of the creatures that infest the northern and southern waters. Reaching it, however, is nearly impossible: the Mikai Lands are separated from the rest of the continent by the imposing Karran Mountains, a mountain range that makes those shores effectively inaccessible to the inhabitants of the other territories.
The reason for the absence of marine creatures has never been determined with certainty. Everything suggests, however, that a magical force hidden on Kaishō Island extends over the surrounding waters, keeping away the creatures that infest the other seas of Myoo.
